According to short-term energy statistics published by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, net electricity production in Croatia in February 2026 amounted to 1,689 GWh, which is 42.5% higher compared to February of the previous year, when output stood at 1,185 GWh.
During February, 889 GWh (52.6%) of electricity was generated by hydropower plants, while 429 GWh (25.4%) came from thermal power plants. Wind farms produced 232 GWh (13.7%), and solar power plants contributed 67 GWh (3.96%) to total generation.
In the same period, Croatia imported 744 GWh of electricity, which is 25.6% lower compared to February last year (1,000 GWh), while electricity exports reached 857 GWh, marking a 50.9% increase compared to February 2024 (568 GWh).
In terms of hydrocarbons, Croatia produced 55 million cubic meters of natural gas in February 2025, unchanged compared to the same month last year. Natural gas imports amounted to 271 million cubic meters, up 54.9% year-on-year.
Crude oil production stood at 35,000 tons, remaining stable compared to the previous year. Production of petroleum products totaled 87,000 tons in February 2025, compared to 273,000 tons in the same month last year.
