Renewable energy developer Continental Wind Partners (CWP) Europe said that it has acquired Studina solar project in Romania with an installed capacity of 134 MW. However, financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The statement from the company said that it expects to start construction works on this project by the end of this year and to have it operational by the end of 2024.
Upon completion, the solar power plant will generate enough electricity to cover the annual consumption of some 115,000 homes.
CWP Europe was the developer of 600 MW wind farm Fantanele-Cogealac in Romania, which is still the largest onshore wind facility in Europe.
The company has a pipeline of over 6 GW of large- scale renewable energy projects in southeastern Europe, including Serbia, Bulgaria, Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
