Several billion EUR of investments in energy can be realized this year, Minister of Energy Zorana Mihajovic estimated.
“HPP Bistrica on Lim and TPPs Stavalj near Senica that are being negotiated and the contract signing is being expected”, she said on conference “How to launch investments in Serbian energy sector?”.
Mihajlovic said that the construction of wind power plants can be expected, the construction of small HPPs has been launched and the consumption of renewable energy sources has begun.
She expects signing the contract for TPP Novi Sad by the end of April.
Mihajlovic stressed that investors are decided for Serbian energy sector, despite current electricity price and future price increase, but she didn’t precise when and in which amount.
Serbia will need 700 million EUR for stimulating tariffs of renewable sources’ electricity production from until 2020- she said.
Mihajlovic stated that priority to her Ministry is the increase of energy efficiency i.e. the decrease of energy waste and that she expects parliament to pass a low for about 10 days.
“The Ministry priority” is investment in infrastructural objects, production of oil and gas, as well as in potential use of renewable energy sources”, she added.
Mihajlovic reminded that the public call, for construction of 317 small HPPs in Serbia, was announced last week. This will cost 120 to 200 million EUR- she announced and added that Serbia has a potential for 900 small HPPs.
