Fortis Energy has brought two Serbian solar projects totalling 300 MW to ready-to-build status, clearing them to move into equipment procurement and construction.
The portfolio includes the 270-MW Nocaj solar plant, which will incorporate a 72-MWh battery energy-storage system, and the 30-MW Green project.
Fortis said both projects now have the required permits, land rights and grid-connection agreements.
The smaller Green plant is targeted for commissioning in the fourth quarter of 2027, while Nocaj is scheduled to follow in the second quarter of 2028.
Combined annual electricity generation is forecast at more than 368 GWh.
The battery at Nocaj will allow part of the plant’s solar production to be stored during periods of high daytime generation and discharged later, giving the project greater exposure-management flexibility as increasingly large solar volumes affect Serbian intraday and day-ahead price profiles.
The two developments form part of Fortis Energy’s wider Serbian pipeline, comprising five solar plants and four wind projects.
