Higher price of gas can be expected as of January 2013, and electricity price increase can happen in February, announced the Serbian Minister of Trade Rasim Ljajic. Ljajic said that price increase can amount about 10 percent.
According to his words, “Srbijagas” and “ElektroprivredaSrbije” said that they are in very difficult economic situation and they demand price increase to be for 27%.
“We couldn’t accept price increase which citizens cannot handle with, especially those who are most endangered”, said Ljajic.
“Srbijagas” alleged that it has huge debts and that is because they sell gas at social price not market price. Electricity producers are in same situation, so they also asked for price increase”, alleger Ljajic.
According to his words, EPS can be expected to offer possibility of lower price for 400.000 socially endangered citizens.
The Minister of Energy Zorana Mihajlovic declared that only one electricity price increase is being considered for next year. She repeated that social cards for the poor, who will pay lower price, will be ready until the end of this year and new tariff system in January next year.
