Portuguese renewable energy company EDP Renovaveis (EDPR) has commissioned 45 MW wind farm near Malesina in central Greece, its first in the country.
The statement from the company said that the new wind farm will generate enough electricity to cover the needs of about 28,000 households and will reduce annual CO2 emissions by 48,000 tons.
EDPR CEO Miguel Stilwell d’Andrade said that the company plans to continue to explore opportunities in the Greek renewable energy sector, as it targets close to 500 MW of installed capacity in Greece by 2025, which would represent over 500 million euros in investments.
