Italian energy company Enel is reportedly close to signing an agreement on the sale of 50% stake in its Greek renewables subsidiary to Australian Macquarie Group.

Last year, the Italian company said that it is looking for a strategic partner for the purchase of a stake in Enel Green Power Hellas, willing to invest in its further development.

Enel Green Power Hellas has 59 facilities totaling 482 megawatts of operated capacity powered by wind, solar and hydro energy, with another six solar power plants of 84 MW under construction. Macquarie holds a 49 % stake in Greek electricity distribution system operator DEDDIE.
