Electricity and natural gas suppliers in Greece will receive compensations from the Government worth a total of 600 million euros intended to cover subsidized prices for residential consumers between September and December.
An additional 100 million euros will also be offered to energy suppliers early in 2022 to offset increased energy subsidies for December. The money for this purpose is allocated from the Energy Transition Fund.
Electricity and natural gas suppliers have been affected by increased prices in wholesale markets, many of them unable to find additional cash for the purchase of energy they supply to consumers.
