Greece: July SMP averages 53 euros, market operator reports
, SEE Energy NewsThe System Marginal Price (SMP) in Greece averaged 53.17 euros per MWh in July, according to a new report released by LAGIE, the Electricity Market Operator.
The previous month’s lowest SMP, 42.98 euros, was registered on July 4, and the highest, 68.53 euros, on July 13, the LAGIE report noted.
The average SMP for July was 19.13 percent lower than the figure registered a year earlier, LAGIE noted.
As for electricity production, it increased by 13.48 percent to 4,477,813 MWh last month. However, production fell by 4.54 percent, to 23,426,505 MWh for the six-month period, LAGIE reported.
Electricity imports in July fell by 12.36 percent to 914,702 MWh, but increased by 59.17 percent to 7,255,741 MWh for the six-month period, according to the LAGIE report.
Demand amounted to 4,954,296 MWh in July, a 0.77 percent increase.
