Chinese solar manufacturer LONGi Green Energy has been selected to supply photovoltaic modules for two solar power plants with a combined capacity of 81.66 MW, being developed by Greek independent power producer Faria Renewables.
The contract covers the 45.51 MW Athamas project near Almyros and the 36.15 MW Mykonos solar plant in the Farsala area, both located in the Thessaly region. Together, the projects will use 125,280 LONGi Hi-MO 9 back-contact modules.
Faria Renewables is responsible for the full project lifecycle, acting as developer, EPC contractor, and future owner and operator of both solar facilities once construction is completed.
Construction of the Athamas project began in November 2025, with grid connection expected by the end of July 2026. Work on the Mykonos solar plant started in February 2026, with commissioning scheduled for June 2027.
Athamas is the largest solar project to date for Faria Renewables. The plant will combine fixed-tilt and single-axis tracking systems and will connect to Greece’s transmission network via a dedicated 150 kV substation. Annual electricity generation is estimated at around 80 GWh.
