Wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa announced that it has been contracted to deliver equipment for a 36 MW wind project in Greece.
The contract was signed with the local Intrakat Group for their Karkaros wind project. The future wind faem, located in central Greece, will include seven SG 5.0-145 turbines. The wind farm should be put into operation in autumn 2023.
Once operational, the wind farm is expected to generate enough electricity to cover the consumption of around 30,000 homes per year, with its output seen to mitigate over 92,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
This order marks the first partnership between Siemens Gamesa and Intrakat Group. With this contract, Siemens Gamesa will have 992 MW of wind turbine capacity installed or under construction in Greece.
