Natural gas consumption in Hungary reached 4.37 bln cubic meters in the first half of the year, which ja 6.5% devrrase from the same period a year earlier, the Energy Affairs Ministry said, according to a report by state news agency MTI.
Households accounted for about two-thirds of the reduction in consumption.
Hungary’s gas storages are around 80% full, holding over 5 bcm, the ministry said.
It added that Hungary has overperformed in European Union gas consumption reduction and gas reserve thresholds.
