The average electricity price on the day-ahead market of the Hungarian energy exchange HUPX reached 150.41 euros/MWh in January 2026, marking a 29.8% increase compared to December 2025, when the average baseload price was 115.88 euros/MWh. The average peak price on HUPX DAM stood at 176.37 euros/MWh, 36.4% higher than the previous month.
The traded volume on the day-ahead market totaled 3.41 million MWh in January, up 12.1% from December 2025 (3.04 million MWh) and 29.2% higher than in January 2025 (2.64 million MWh). On the intraday continuous market, total traded volume reached 1,098,895 MWh, an increase of 5.8% compared to December 2025.
In January 2026, 113 members were registered on the day-ahead market, while 105 members participated in the intraday continuous market, reflecting a stable level of market engagement.
