A newly built solar power plant in Kiskunhalas, Hungary, has officially entered commercial operation, adding 40 MW of installed capacity to the country’s renewable energy portfolio. The project’s investor is the Trustify Impact I private equity fund. The fund’s ownership structure complies with Hungary’s legal framework for certain private equity vehicles, under which beneficial owners are not publicly disclosed. The development of the solar facility was carried out by SSI Invest.
The plant spans approximately 84 hectares and features over 70,000 solar panels. At peak output, it is projected to generate around 64.3 GWh of electricity per year. In addition to its generation capacity, the project includes plans for a 40 MWh battery energy storage system, with construction expected to begin in the summer of 2026 following the issuance of the construction permit.
Financing for the investment was arranged through the Ministry of National Economy’s Baross Gabor Capital Program, which combines 70% public funding with 30% private capital, supporting Hungary’s continued expansion of sustainable energy infrastructure.
