, SEE Energy NewsEU officialy started the investigation on the models of financing of new NPP Paks.
Information on this is given in a letter that the European Commissioner for market competition Margrethe Vestager sent to the Hungarian Government. The investigation had been initiated on 22.05.2015. and the Hungarian government was previously officially informed about it. The aim of the investigation is to examine the facts about the EU dubious plan of the Hungarian Government to use state subsidies for the project financing.
The investigation was launched after the European Commission received a study that sent Benedek Javor, the Hungarian representative in the European Parliament and the Hungarian environmental association Energiaklub. The study, based on publicly available data, shows that the project will be never financially paid off and cannot be achieved without state subsidies which is prohibited under EU rules. , transmits Serbia-energy.eu
