Hungary sold all 509,224 guarantees of origin (GO) offered at the first auction for renewable certificates in the country, at an average weighted price ranging from 1.67 to 1.9 euros per MWh, according to the Hungarian Electricity Exchange HUPX.
Guarantees of origin for solar, wind and hydro energy produced in February and March 2022 were sold at an average weighted price of 1.82 to 1.85 euros per MWh, while the price of CSOs for biogas and natural gas (also for February and March ) amounted to EUR 1.9 per MWh.
CSOs for geothermal energy and energy from waste for February were sold at a price of 1.67 euros, or 1.68 euros per MWh.
The largest individual revenues were realized at the CSO auction for biogas produced in February – 1.53 million euros, and in March – 1.1 million euros.
The income generated at the auction of guarantees of origin for solar energy produced in March this year amounted to 459 thousand euros. The largest number of winning bids was recorded at this auction – six, out of a total of 16 participants.
