Interest In Serbian Hydropower On The Rise, Uncategorized
The level of interest in the Serbian hydropower sector has been growing substantially in recent months. Italian Secci, Canadian REV and German RWE Inoggi are just one of the biggest actors which entered Serbian market.
Italian Seci Energia SpA ‘s and the state-owned utility Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) in 2011 decided to form a EUR819mn joint venture (JV) to build ten hydropower plants on the Drina River from 2012 onwards.Also Canadian REV has project plans to invest about EUR140mn in two hydroelectric power plants on the country’s River Lim. German RWE Inoggi is also developing Moravske hydro power plants.
The construction of the REV’s two hydroelectric power plants – the Brodarevo 1 and Brodarevo 2 – is expected to start over the summer of 2012 and the plants will have a capacity of 26MW and 32.4MW respectively.
