Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Skundric confirmed that the completion of arrangements with Chinese partner CMEC is underway in a move to vitally reconstruct two thermo-blocks and construct a new power plant in Kostolac, in which about $2 billion will be invested.
He highlighted that all foreign and domestic investors are welcome to invest in the Serbian energy sector.
The goal of negotiations with the Chinese partner is to provide soft loans to revitalise and expand the capacity of Kostolac to 12 million tonnes of coal a year, and to build a new unit with a power possible of exceeding 300 MW, outlined Skundric.
