Macedonia: Tender for Pre-Q 70MW HPP project
, SEE Energy NewsThe FYR Macedonia government is inviting applications for pre-qualification to construct Konsko Dam, which is to include a hydroelectric project, on FYR Macedonia’s Konsko River at Gevgelija. Responses are due February 19.
Utility AD Elektrarni na Makedonija already seeks bids by March 31 to construct the 70-MW Boskov Most hydroelectric project on the Mala Reka River. The Ministry of Economy took bids in 2012 for a pre-feasibility study of multi-purpose utilization of the Vardar River, including hydropower. It also estimated investments of more than US$53 million will help pay for 21 new small hydropower plants in FYR Macedonia. In the current solicitation, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy invites pre-qualification to construct Konsko Dam. The project is to provide water supply for consumption and irrigation as well as a hydropower project expected to generate 29,400 MWh annually.
