North Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said that German renewable energy company wpd will build a 415 MW wind farm in North Macedonia, an investment worth some 500 million euros.
PM Zaev said that the future Virovi wind farm will consist of 69 wind turbines and will be built in northeastern part of the country, in the municipalities of Kumanovo and Kriva Palanka. He added that this is the largest greenfield investment in the country since its independence in 1991. The future wind farm will produce enough electricity to cover the needs of some 290,000 households.
Last month, the Government of North Macedonia has granted the status of a strategic projects to 415 MW wind farm Virovi developed by German wpd and 80 MW solar power plant Erdzelija developed by EFT.
