The Serbian Ministry of Energy is preparing the plan for restructuring Srbijagas which will be carried out in several stages, while Agroziv and other companies within Srbijagas will no longer be owned by the company, Minister of Energy Zorana Mihajlovic stated in Belgrade late on Thursday.
Mihajlovic stated that it is not good for Srbijagas if companies that are not performing the main activity, that is production and distribution of gas, pose a burden on the operation of the public enterprise.
A part of Srbijagas’ debt was brought about by the daughter-companies which the public enterprise took on because of the outstanding gas debts, the minister said replying to the question of Slovenian businessmen during the meeting of the Slovenian Business Club.
She noted that the Serbian Energy Ministry is preparing the changes in the book of regulations on the investments in the energy sector which will reduce the number of permits investors need to procure so as to invest their funds in Serbia.
The book of regulations will be completed by the end of the 2012, as well as the new list of incentive feed-in tariffs for the production of electricity from renewable sources, Mihajlovic announced.
