Montenegro and TERNA proceeds with submarine power cable

There are no disputable questions for further realization of submarine interconnection cable project between Montenegro and Italy- it was stated on the meeting between Minister of Finance and Economy Radoje Zugic and Vladimir Kavaric, Representative of Italian Company TERNA.

Interlocutors expressed expectations that project will be realized in accordance with arranged dynamic- it was stated after the meeting.

“All activities so far were considered, and future collaborative directions in submarine cable construction project between Montenegro and Italy were defined”, it was stated from Ministry of Finance.

Project of submarine cable interconnection construction between Montenegro and Italy, all related infrastructures, strategic partnership of Montenegrin electricity transmission system and Italian Company TERNA will place Montenegro as an energy hub in the region.

Balkan market connects EU market with this project on the one side, and Montenegro will provide meaningfully stronger transmission network in Montenegro and safer supply to Montenegrin coast with this project realization, on the other side. Investments in new electricity sources, especially renewable sources, will be stimulated.
