The Czech company “Skoda Praha” has a good chance to be selected as a partner in the construction of the second block of TPP “Pljevlja”, because it might be the only one to submit a bid for the facility.
According to the Montenegrin media, “Skoda Praha” expressed its expectation that it will be selected in a tender for a new power plant in Pljevlje, while referring to its own professionalism, as well as technological, financial, and environmental assumptions.
Bids, according to a pre-determined period of time, may be submitted by 30 September.
Interest in the construction of a new power facility in Montenegro was earlier expressed by companies from several other countries, especially from China.
“Škoda Praha” is the largest Czech constructor of facilities in the area of power and has the experience of six decades.
A new power plant in Pljevlje, according to estimates, would cost between 270 and 300 million euros and would produce 1.1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity.
It is estimated that the construction of the second block of TPP would last between two and three years.
It is estimated that coal mine Pljevlje can supply both thermal power plants for the next 50 years.
