Montenegrin state-owned utility EPCG has launched a tender for the main design of the planned 41.8 MW Krupac solar power plant, with the contract estimated at €125,000.
The photovoltaic facility is planned on the shores of Lake Krupac near Niksic and is part of EPCG’s broader decarbonization strategy. The utility aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and gradually replace coal-fired generation with renewable energy, in line with its sustainable development objectives and cooperation with the European Union.
The solar plant will consist of photovoltaic modules installed on mounting structures and connected into arrays. Electricity will be routed through inverters to low-voltage blocks at the substation, while a new 110 kV overhead transmission line will connect the facility to the future 220/110 kV Trubjela substation.
The selected contractor will be responsible for the main design, covering architectural and civil works, process engineering, equipment and electrical installations. The assignment will also include detailed bills of quantities and a comprehensive estimate of construction costs.
