In May 2026, the average electricity bill for households amounted to €29.15, marking a decrease of 8.3% compared to the previous month, when the average bill stood at €31.78. The decline reflects lower monthly consumption across the household sector.
At the municipal level, the lowest average bill was recorded in Rožaje, where households paid around €23.5, while the highest average was registered in Kotor, reaching approximately €34.5. These differences reflect variations in consumption patterns and household demand across the country.
The majority of consumers remained in the lower billing categories. Around 66.63% of households received electricity bills below €30, while 18.41% paid between €30 and €50. A further 12.07% of customers were billed between €50 and €100, while only 2.89% faced monthly bills exceeding €100.
The electricity utility EPCG also reported that 161,650 regularly paying customers received a discount, representing approximately 39.05% of total consumers in Montenegro. The company added that total household electricity consumption in May 2026 reached 105.4 million kWh, which is 5.93% higher year-on-year, but 6.37% lower compared to the previous month.
