Montenegrin Ministry of Economy has called all interested parties to take part in public hearing on the Draft Concession Act for granting concessions for the exploitation of water flows for the construction of small hydropower plants (SHPP), which is open until 15 July.
In its statement, the Ministry said that the aim of this public debate is to inform all interested parties about the current draft of the Concession Act, on which basis a public tender for granting concessions for the construction of SHPPs will be organized.
Among other things, the draft document defines the activities of bidders during the bidding procedure, as well as obligations which are to be met by concessionaires during the concession period. The draft further states that the subject of the concession is the design, construction, operation and maintenance of small hydropower plants and after the expiry of the concession, the concessionaire is obliged to transfer the facilities to state as the grantor of the concession.
In June last year, the Ministry of Economy said that current concession agreements in Montenegro envisage the construction of 41 small hydropower plants with the total installed capacity of 72 MW and planned annual production of 244 GWh. Total value of the investment in SHPPs should be around 109 million euros, transmits Serbia-energy.eu
