Canadian Company REV gave up the constructions of HPP Brodarevo 1 and HPP Brodarevo 2- it was said in NGO “Euromost”.
Supposedly, the reasons for quitting are financial like refusal of the World Bank that this company had applied for credit in. According to unofficial information of Euromost, there are two reasons why REV didn’t get credit.
One of them is presumably the corruption investigation of Energoprojekt, the company that did environmental influence estimation study, and the other one is not delivering the construction permission for HPPs with planned project.
The REV Company closed its offices in Brodarevo, as Acting Director of Euromost, Almer Mekic stated.
Mekic said that Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro should ask for information from Serbian Government about correctness of these states and what state plans to do.
“If this is correct, there is no further need to conduct procedures for HPPs’ construction in Serbia or in Montenegro”, Milekic believes.
According to his words, Euromost will continue to fight against Brodarevo HPPs’ construction together with citizens.
