The preparatory works for the substation Lastva have begun in Montenegro, which is part of a linking project of the power systems of Montenegro and Italy by submarine cable, and it was announced from the Montenegrin Electric Transmission System (CGES).
The substation construction will cost about 23 MEUR. Expected date of completion is the end of next year.
The majority state-owned CGES also finances substation and transmission line from coast to Pljevlja or part of the power cable to worth over 100 MEUR. That part of the investment will be charged through electricity bills – the transfer price of electricity. The partner, Italian Terna, finances the cable construction – close to 800 MEUR.
From CGES pointed out that this was the latest GIS technology, which ensured reliable operation, low maintenance and significantly reduced the impact on the environment compared to conventional solutions.
The temporary construction site facilities are installed now on the location of the future substation, the access road for the passage of heavy construction machinery adapted and access to low-voltage electric power distribution network provided, it was announced from the Montenegrin Company.
