Total electricity consumption in North Macedonia in December 2019 amounted to 798,920 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 32.38 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 593,973 tons, while the consumption of petroleum products stood at 95,489 tons. According to the data from State Statistical Office, 66.1 % of the consumed electricity in December was covered by domestic production, while 97.3 % of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production. Total net production of electricity in North Macedonia in December 2019 stood at 492,985 MWh, which is 14.5 % lower compared to the same month last year. 281,329 MWh or 57.1 % was produced at thermal power plants (- 23.1 % compared to December 2018), 117,363 MWh or 23.8 % was produced at hydropower plants (+ 1 %), 77,442 MWh or 15.7 % in CHP plants and 11,297 MWh or 2.3 % was produced by Bogdanci wind farm.
Total net production of electricity in North Macedonia in 2019 stood at 5,501,317 MWh, which is 4.1 % higher compared to the previous year. 3,236,994 MWh or 58.8 % was produced at thermal power plants (+ 23.9 % compared to 2018), 1,155,396 MWh or 21 % was produced at hydropower plants (- 34.9 %), 928,792 MWh or 16.9 % in CHP plants and 101,807 MWh or 1.85 % was produced by Bogdanci wind farm.
