Total electricity consumption in North Macedonia in August 2019 amounted to 561,147 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 31.43 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 520,735 tons, while the consumption of petroleum products stood at 114,629 tons.
According to the data from State Statistical Office, 98.6 % of the consumed electricity in August was covered by domestic production, while 95.2 % of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production. Total net production of electricity in North Macedonia in August 2019 stood at 520,383 MWh, which is 17.7 % higher compared to the same month last year (441,962 MWh). 289,323 MWh or 55.6 % was produced at thermal power plants (+ 17 % compared to August 2018), 81,374 MWh or 15.6 % was produced at hydropower plants (- 27.6 %), 136,784 MWh or 26.3 % in CHP plants and 5,893 MWh or 1.13 % was produced by Bogdanci wind farm.
