In January 2026, the volume of electricity traded on North Macedonia’s day-ahead electricity exchange reached 153,028.7 MWh, marking a 17.6% increase compared to 130,168 MWh in the same month last year. Compared to December 2025, traded volume was 29.6% higher.
The electricity market operator MEMO reported that the average market-clearing price for January 2026 stood at 122.55 euros/MWh, up 4.8% from the previous month. The daily average trading volume amounted to 4,936.4 MWh, while the peak price for the month reached 137.8 euros/MWh.
The North Macedonian electricity exchange was established in May 2023.
