North Macedonia: Electricity production in May, SEE Energy News
According to the data from State Statistical Office, 63.5 % of the consumed electricity in May was covered by domestic production, while 96.1 % of the total coal consumption was used for electricity production. Total electricity consumption in North Macedonia in May 2020 amounted to 524,980 MWh, natural gas consumption amounted to 3.51 million cubic meters, coal consumption reached 363,229 tons, while the consumption of petroleum products stood at 79,336 tons. Total net production of electricity in Macedonia in May 2020 stood at 313,407 MWh, which is 18.1 % lower compared to the same month last year. 170,056 MWh or 54.3 % was produced at thermal power plants (- 31.3 % compared to May 2019), 124,951 MWh or 39.9 % was produced at hydropower plants (+ 5.1 %) and 11,217 MWh or 3.58 % was produced by Bogdanci wind farm.
