As of today, electricity supplier EVN has stopped delivering electricity to the national railways operator Macedonian Railways due to accumulated unpaid debt.
According to EVN, the debt for supplied electricity now amounts to some 6.5 million euros.
Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski said earlier this week that the Government will cover the debts of state-owned companies for electricity supplied by EVN.
