The second section of the new Stip-Probistip 110 kV transmission line, which follows the route of the old line, which was in operation for almost 50 years, was commissioned by North Macedonian electricity transmission system operator MEPSO.
The newly commissioned section connects Neokazi and Probistip substations.
2.5 million euros was invested in the construction of the section, both from the EU funds and MEPSO’s own resources. General Director of MEPSO Eva Sukleva said that, with this investment, Probistip will be able to attract additional investments due to increased reliability and security of supply. She noted that a total of 15 million euros will be invested in the construction of 130 kilometers of transmission lines.
Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said that this is a capital investment in a new and modern electricity distribution network that will bring numerous benefits to population and industry in the eastern part of the country and create conditions for long-term and quality electricity supply for Probistip, Stip, Kratovo, Sveti Nikola, Kriva Palanka and Zletovo municipalities, as well as for the full energy functionality of the Neokazi industrial zone, in which there is already a large investor from the metal processing industry.
