A cross-border gas supply agreement has been concluded after Greek gas company DEPA Trade emerged as the winning bidder in an international tender organized by Bulgaria’s Bulgartransgaz.
The procurement, conducted through the Balkan Gas Hub, aimed at securing 500 GWh of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to support the transmission system needs of Bulgaria. The selected LNG cargo is scheduled for delivery in early August and will be received at the Alexandroupoli FSRU.
Christos Basdekis, Director of Trading at DEPA Trade, stated that the outcome reflects strong coordination among regional stakeholders, underlining the importance of cooperation in ensuring reliable gas supply across Southeast Europe.
Operating across multiple markets in Southeastern Europe, DEPA Trade aims to further strengthen its role in regional energy security through similar cross-border initiatives in the future.
