Energy cooperation between the Republic of Srpska (RS) and Russia is set to continue following recent talks in St. Petersburg, where officials agreed to extend the existing natural gas supply arrangement. The development underscores the importance of ongoing energy ties between the two sides and provides greater certainty for future supply planning.
The announcement came after a meeting between Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller and Milorad Dodik, during which participants reviewed current cooperation in the gas sector and discussed opportunities for further collaboration. According to information released by Gazprom, the parties reached an agreement to prolong the contract governing Russian natural gas deliveries to RS.
Dodik later stated that discussions also addressed pricing conditions, confirming that RS would continue to receive gas under favorable commercial terms. He noted that the current pricing framework is expected to remain in effect beyond the existing contract period and be extended for the coming year.
In addition to supply and pricing issues, the talks focused on the long-term outlook for energy cooperation between RS and Gazprom. Both sides reportedly examined future opportunities to strengthen partnerships in the natural gas sector and support regional energy requirements.
