Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska stated that Government of Srpska made procedural conditions for undisturbed function and development of the Mine and TPP “Ugljevik” today, as well as for the construction of new thermal block.
“Expertise of Mining-Geological University from Belgrade showed definitely, scientifically and professionally that the new forming and remapping the reservoir “Bogutovo selo”, “Ugljevik Istok” and “Ugljevik Istok 2” provide sufficient quantities of coal for the existing power plant what provides sufficient coal quantities for the construction of new thermal block at the same time”, it was explained in the statement.
Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska stressed in the project task that existing TPP must be provided with required coal amounts for undisturbed labor in economically profitable and efficient lifespan.
Government of Republika Srpska made a decision for determining the public interest for coal exploitation on the base of expertise results, detailed estimations of economic and social justification of concessions’ assignment on this territory with former consultations with authorities and institutions.
“Representatives of trade union organization “Ugljevik” behavior is unreasonable, especially if we consider the fact that Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining is in this situation completely transparent as always”, it is added in the statement from Ministry of Resources about the meeting of trade union Ugljevik held this morning, in order to discuss concern for leadership method of mineral resources of Republika Srpska.
