The first facility of its kind built in the former Yugoslavia in the last 25 years is the new power plant Stanari. TPP Stanari is owned by EFT Swiss company, electricity trader Energy Financing Team registered in Swiss but with background from the Balkans, Belgrade. The contractual period of construction and commissioning thermal power plant into operation is 45 months and runs from December 21st,2012th, when the China “Dongfang” contract with EFT came into force. Works on the future thermal power plant and the first excavations were initiated on April 16thlast year, according to the schedule will be completed by the end of next year.
EFT entrusted the construction of this demanding project to the Chinese company “Dongfang Electric Corporation” and large number of employees of local construction companies received business subcontractors. In addition to work on the TPP construction, currently the most actual is relocation of part of the regional road Doboj – Prnjavor in Dragalovci.
“We are sure that this demanding facility is built on all the procedures and standards of the environment protection and European directives, and that EFT is the best investors example of timeliness and compliance with the legal regulations of RS”, said the Minister of Physical Planning, Civil Engineering and Ecology Srebrenka Golic during a recent visit to the site in Stanari.
She pointed out as significant in these times of crisis that currently 540 employees worked in the Mine and Thermal power plant Stanari, and that this number would be 900after the power plant would be put into operation.
“More than 311 MEURhas been invested so far intoconstruction, the facility of the thermal power planttechnologically is very demanding, complicated by all the elements, but I think that the power plant will be completed and put into operation on schedule”,says Ivica Jakovljevic, director of the Mine and Thermal power plant Stanari.
Capacity of the future TPP Stanari is 300 MW, with an annual production of 2,000 gigawatt-hours, with a coal consumption of 2.3 million tons per year.
