Italian renewable energy company Alerion Clean Power has begun commissioning a 51 MW solar power plant in Romania, further expanding its renewable energy portfolio in the country.
The facility is located in Racari, Dâmbovița County, and covers an area of approximately 85 hectares. It is equipped with bifacial photovoltaic modules mounted on single-axis tracking systems, and is expected to generate around 77 GWh of electricity annually once fully operational.
The project was constructed by Sunnerg Renewable Service, part of the Sunnerg Group, with construction having started in April 2024. The total investment for the project is estimated at around €35 million.
With the completion of the Racari plant, Alerion’s installed solar capacity in Romania now exceeds 216 MW, strengthening its position in one of its key international markets.
According to the company, the new solar plant is expected to generate approximately €5.5 million in annual EBITDA once it reaches full commercial operation.
