A major renewable energy project is advancing in Romania through a partnership between ALFI and Kraftfeld Energy. The two companies have joined forces within PVP Cygnus to develop a combined solar and battery storage facility.
The planned project will feature a 126 MW solar power plant, paired with a 200 MWh battery storage system. It is positioned as a flagship investment, reflecting the growing demand for integrated renewable generation and storage solutions.
For Slovenia’s ALFI Green Energy Fund, this represents its largest investment to date and a key expansion step across the region. The fund holds a 65% majority stake in the project company, while Austria’s Kraftfeld Energy owns the remaining share. Financing of around 90 million euros has already been secured through Raiffeisen Bank International, which is acting as the financing agent.
With construction already underway, the project is expected to reach full operational capacity by early 2027. The partnership combines financial strength and technical expertise, aiming to deliver a large-scale renewable energy asset that supports both the energy transition and grid stability through battery storage integration.
