German renewables company BayWa r.e has bought 46 MWp solar photovoltaic park in southeastern Romania.
The deal was announced by law firm Filip & Company, which acted as BayWa r.e Romania’s legal counsel. Financial details about the purchase were kept under wraps.
With the move, the German firm has taken possession of the White Gate PV Park located in Dobruja region’s Constanta County, close to the border with Bulgaria. According to local media reports, the solar farm was offloaded by White Gate Industrial Park, a domestic company controlled by several local entrepreneurs.
BayWa r.e. is a globally active developer, service provider, PV wholesaler, energy trader and provider of energy solutions. The company is majority held by German group BayWa AG, while a fund operated by Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP) owns a 49% stake. The company operates in 31 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
