The largest Romanian chemical company Chimcomplex Borzesti announced that it must enter a restructuring program in an attempt to cope with rising energy prices. The company is one of the largest consumers of natural gas in Romania.
As part of the measures, the Chimcomplex Borzesti platform will undergo a general overhaul for at least three weeks. During this period, the company’s operations will be reanalyzed for restructuring to make them profitable, and some divisions will be closed.
The company is considering halving the activity of the soda-producing division and indefinitely closing three natural gas-consuming divisions within the platform in Ramnicu Valcea.
