Chinese CEE Fund plans to invest between 20 and 50 million dollars in energy infrastructure projects, high efficiency cogeneration and energy efficiency in Romania in 2015th stated Octavian Vidu, director of fund management company CEE Equity Partners for Romania. He could not specify the details of the investment.
So far, the Fund participated in two energy projects in the region of Central and Eastern Europe, in Poland – Polenergia, with a share of 70 MEUR (wind farms, gas transmission, combined biomass installation of 31 MW and thermal power plant of 800 MW) and wind farm Wroblew, with capacity of 36 MW, which was sold for 50 MEUR in January. Investors have recovered the invested money 1.8 times; respectively they have achieved a yield of 80 percent.
Area of fund interest is renewable energy sources: wind farms, solar power plants, hydro, biogas, biofuel and geothermal sources. Also, there is interest in plants based on conventional energy sources – coal, gas, oil, heat production, energy production from waste, as well as distribution, storage and transmission.
CEE Fund allocated assets in the amount of 500 million dollars for 16 countries in the region.
