Romanian Ministry of Energy announced that it has launched a pubic call for proposals for green energy projects worth some 458 million euros with co-financing from EU under the country’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).

Minister of Energy Virgil Popescu said that the implementation of projects eligible for funding under this aid scheme aims to increase the installed capacity to produce electricity from wind and solar energy, with or without integrated storage facilities, by approximately 950 MW. Investments are the long-term solution for our country’s energy security.

The maximum aid that can be granted for a single investment project cannot exceed 15 million euros.

For wind energy, the amount of state aid that will be granted under the scheme stands up to 1.3 million euros per MW for installed capacities between 0.2 MW and 1 MW and 650,000 euros per MW for installed capacities higher than 1 MW.

For solar energy, the state aid is 750,000 euros per MW for installed capacities between 0.2 MW and 1 MW and 425,000 euros per MW for installed capacities higher than 1 MW.

Applications for solar and wind projects can be submitted until 31 May.

Energy projects benefit from a total allocation of 1.62 billion euros under the NRRP.
