The average price of electricity on the day-ahead market of the Romanian energy exchange OPCOM reached 157.19 euros per MWh in February 2025, marking an increase of 125.34 percent compared to the same month in 2024 and a rise of 12.72 percent from January 2025, when the average baseload price stood at 139.45 euros per MWh.
Total traded volume in February amounted to 1.32 million MWh, representing a decrease of 17.35 percent from February 2024 and a drop of 17.94 percent from January. The average traded volume was 1,969.1 MWh per hour.
The total value of transactions in February stood at 214.6 million euros, 90.37 percent higher than the 112.7 million euros recorded in February 2024 but 12.16 percent lower than in January 2025, when it was 244.3 million euros. The share of the day-ahead market in forecasted net consumption for February 2025 was 28.99 percent.
On the intraday market, a total of 208,485.1 MWh was traded in February, 36.63 percent more than in February 2024 and 14.63 percent more than in January. The average intraday market price stood at 151.96 euros per MWh, showing an increase of 121.08 percent year-on-year and a rise of 14.51 percent compared to the previous month.
For bilateral contracts with delivery in February, the total traded volume reached 1.155 million MWh, with an average price of 103.63 euros per MWh.
