The average price of electricity on Romania’s day-ahead market (OPCOM) reached €97.05/MWh in September 2025, marking an 11.35% decrease compared to September 2024, but a 23.96% increase from August 2025, when the average baseload price was €78.29/MWh.
Traded volume in September totaled 1.16 million MWh, down 17.79% year-on-year and 3.42% month-on-month, with an average traded volume of 1,611.4 MWh/h. The total transaction value reached €115.7 million, 31.34% lower than September 2024 (€168.5 million), but 19.17% higher than August 2025 (€97.1 million). The day-ahead market accounted for 33.04% of forecasted net consumption in September 2025.
On the intraday market, 141,185.5 MWh were traded, down 15.73% year-on-year and 13.82% month-on-month, at an average price of €93.84/MWh (10.07% lower than September 2024 but 34.03% higher than August 2025).
Bilateral contracts for September delivery totaled 1.018 million MWh, with an average price of €103.48/MWh.
This data highlights significant month-to-month price volatility despite a decline compared to last year.
