Romania: Electricity exports increase to Serbia and Bulgari
, SEE Energy NewsRomania’s energy exports amounted in the first six months to 3.6 TWh, up 86 percent year-on-year, according to data from the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E).
Bulgaria and Serbia were the main destinations of the energy from Romania, with 84 percent of energy exports.
In Bulgaria, the energy produced in Romania balanced the deficit caused by a malfunction at a coal power plant, while exports to Serbia reached a peak in mid-May, when floods caused by heavy rains cut the power supply in some localities and triggered the shutdown of some Serbian thermo and hydro power plants.
