Romania: Electricity production 1H 2015 in power plants decreased and RES power gen increased following by increase of exports

Final consumption of electricity decreased by 4.8% in the period January-May 2015 compared to the same period a year earlier, reaching 19.947 billion KWh.

Household consumption increased by 4.2%, according to the National Institute of Statistics – INS. The primary energy resources increased by 3.1% in the first five months of the year, while electricity resources increased by 3.7% compared to the same period in 2014. According to INS, the main primary energy resources totaled 13.376 million tonnes of oil equivalent (toe), increasing by 403,400 toe against the same period 1 January to 31 May 2014.

Domestic production totaled in the period, 9.225 million toe, up by 251,400 toe against the same period in 2014, while imports were 4.151 million toe.

INS data show that production in thermal power was 10.399 billion KWh, down by 1.202 billion KWh (-10.4%) and production from hydro stood at 8.611 billion KWh, up by 1.321 billion KWh (18.1 %). Production of nuclear power plants was 4.629 billion KWh, down by 108.9 million kWh (-2.3%).

Regarding wind power production in the period 1 January to 31 May 2015, there was an amount of 2.710 billion KWh, up by 624.1 million KWh compared to the same period in 2014, while solar power produced in photovoltaic installations It was 622 million KWh, up by 174.6 million KWh in the corresponding period last year.

Exports of electricity in the first 5 months of the year was 4.318 billion KWh, up by 1.962 billion KWh. , transmits Serbia-energy.eu
