Danish renewables developer Eurowind Energy has secured a loan worth 65.33 million euros to finance the construction of a 48 MW wind park Pecineaga in Romania.
Austrian lender Erste Group Bank has contributed a 35.66 million euro credit facility towards the project alongside its Romanian subsidiary Banca Comerciala Romana SA (BCR), which is lending the same amount.
Additionally, the two banks are providing a package worth 18 million euros, including a VAT facility and other financial products, to support the project.
Eurowind is building the wind park at a site located 50 kilometres from Constanta. Construction started in July 2023.
Once up and running, Pecineaga Wind Park will be capable of generating around 176 GWh of electricity annually. It is expected to start operation in the first quarter of 2025.
