Romanian energy production in the first ten months of 2022 was 14.64 million tons of oil equivalent (ton), which is 4% less compared to the same period in 2021. Imports amounted to 12.97 million tons and increased by 3%, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
At the same time, primary energy resources reached 27.6 million tons, which is 218 thousand tons less compared to the same period of the previous year. Domestic production was 14.64 million tons, and import was 12.97 million tons, according to INS data.
In this period, electricity resources amounted to 53,051 million kWh, which is 2,492 million kWh less compared to the same period in 2021.
Production in thermal power plants decreased by 2%, to 17,566 million kWh. Production in hydropower plants decreased by 21%, to 11,892 million kWh, and in nuclear power plants it decreased by 2%, to 9,071 million kWh.
The production of wind energy, in the period from January 1 to October 31, 2021, amounted to 5,827 million kWh, which is 675 million kWh more compared to the same period of the previous year. The production of solar energy in photovoltaic installations in this period amounted to 1,657 million kWh, which is 75.4 million kWh more than in the same period in 2021.
The final consumption of electricity in this period decreased by 6% on an annual basis, to 43,204 million kWh. The final consumption of electricity in the economy decreased by 6%, while the consumption of the population decreased by 9%.
Export of electricity amounted to 5,688 million kWh, which is an increase of 692 million kWh. Technological consumption in networks and stations amounted to 4,159 million kWh and is lower by 252 million kWh.
